I've just sent an email to Mr Colin Hickling, Chairman of Sentech. I hope I figured out the email address correctly.

Dear Mr Hickling

I trust this email has arrived on the desk of Mr Colin Hickling, Chairman of the Board of Sentech.

I wish to lodge a formal complaint regarding the handling of my account on several occasions, as well as the lackadaisical attitude, ridiculous policies and criminal behaviour employed at your company.

Since you are the chairman of the board of a government owned company, I trust that I won't have to speak to your boss to get results. I expect that my problems, and those of hundreds of others, will be dealt with. I expect transparency, honesty and integrity from you and your staff, as outlined in your vision and mission statements.

Mr Hickling, I charge Sentech with criminal behaviour. To whit:

1) Fraud (overbilling of accounts). Your two-year MyWireless Classic bundled contracts stated that the customer was obliged to inform Sentech Finance Department upon the end of the initial two year period, that the billing amount should be decreased. This is not enforceable, since the two year contract, and all associated terms and conditions, expires at 24 months and should be replaced by a new contract with new terms and billing details. You therefore owe me R150 per month for 9 months. I'm sure that there are many hundreds of subscribers who wish to be refunded too.

2) Illegal prevention of access to information. On numerous occasions, your company refused to divulge contact details of persons inside the company in different departments. For example, I wanted to speak to someone in the Finance Department to discuss why a) my Flexi account was disconnected in the afternoon of 1 January 2007, and b) why I was being emailed on the morning of 1 January 2007 with regards a 3GB bandwidth cap that expired on 31 December 2006. This is but one example of illegal activity relating to withholding information. I and several hundred other customers have similar and numerous woeful tales in this regard.

3) Violation of the ISPA Code of Conduct. As a member of this association, you are expected to represent the very best service and support for ALL stakeholders, as per your annual review and that of the CEO, notwithstanding the customer care aspect. I am as much a stakeholder as you are. I and many hundreds of customers on the MyWireless service are extremely unhappy with your company, and I have personally lodged a complaint with the ISPA this morning regarding my latest experience. You do not deserve to be a member of the ISPA with such criminal behaviour.

Mr Hickling, I am very happy with the technical service I get from Sentech. The problem is the administrative side. Count the number of times I am reduced to profanity on the support calls to your customer service centre because of the ineptitude I must deal with. It makes for interesting listening.

Sentech's Mission is to be world-class, but you've failed. Your Vision includes, inter-alia, to be customer-centric. You've failed this too. I am EXTREMELY unhappy.

I trust that you will respond to these allegations with transparency, honesty and integrity. Otherwise I will take this matter to the press. I am sure my hundreds of fellow subscribers will not be averse to that course of action. Prove to me that Sentech is not just a group of common thieves.

Sincerely

Randolph Potter
